For men: Causes of a sore and smelly penis

 reasons for smelly penis

Man, if you want to enjoy a steamy session of oral sex, remember to keep yourself clean and odour-free down there. A smelly penis can be a big put off in bed. So if you are wondering what is it that makes you stink, here are a few possible reasons. Knowing them will help you deal with the problem and well, smell good.

Smegma: It is a natural lubricant that keeps the penis moist, especially in uncircumcised men. It builds up under the foreskin at the tip of the penis. If you aren’t good with penile hygiene (i.e. don’t wash yourself down there) the smegma build-up can be a breeding ground for bacteria, causing odour and set up the stage for infections.

Penile thrush: Who says yeast infections are only associated with women. Men can also suffer from the same, especially due to bad hygiene. And this is not just restricted to bad odour but can also lead to discomforts like pain and itching.

Sweat: Body odour doesn’t spare your genitals and a sweaty penis cannot hide its odour, unless washed thoroughly every day.

STDs: A sexually transmitted infection like gonorrhoea or chlamydia, apart from producing discharge, can also lead to bad odour.

Dry skin: While excess lubrication deposit can lead to smelly penis, the same is true for extreme dry penises too. Lack of moisture can lead to cracks in the foreskin that becomes a breeding ground for microorganisms that dwell and give out a fishy odour.

Tight innerwear: That too if it is made of synthetic fabric. It can lead to clogging of sweat, moisture and lead to bacterial build up that can make the area smelly and at times itchy too.

For women: some reasons for a smelly vagina that you should know

 S&R-reasons for smelly vagina-THS

Vaginal odour is awful and at times it can even put you off, and of course, your partner too. Yes, at times bad odours are that strong. There are ways to keep your vagina clean and odour free. However, first you need to know what is causing it so you can take the right steps to prevent it.
Here are a few causes of vaginal odour:

Vaginal douching: Now this is a debatable issue. Many believe that douching can help prevent vaginal infections, keep it clean and safe. However, others complain about bad vaginal odour post its usage. According to a study, women who used medical grade stainless steel douches had reduced vaginal odour than those who used over-the-counter plastic douche. So, to prevent vaginal odour ban plastic douche from your shopping list.

Sexually transmitted diseases: In this case, vaginal odour is not the only reason. There might be an unusual discharge like white, grey or yellowish in colour with painful urination and intercourse. These are classic signs of an STD, which needs medical attention.
Bacterial infections

Bacterial vaginosis: This bacterial infection causes a fishy odour along with redness, itching and a burning sensation in the vagina. However, not all women who suffer from this condition complain about the odour so other symptoms have to be taken into account.

Heavy discharge: A little amount of vaginal discharge is normal. However, if you notice itching, wetting your pants more often, painful urination with a real foul smell, this is a worrisome situation as it could mean an onset of STDs or even other health conditions.

Sweat: This is a given. Too much sweat down there will definitely not help fight vaginal odour unless you are trying your best to keep it clean.
 Food and vaginal odour
Food: Certain foods with a strong odour like chillies, pepper or even onion and garlic can give rise to vaginal odour. However, there aren’t enough studies to prove this fact. Usually, women who consume too much spicy food complain about vaginal odour.
Menstrual hygiene
Menstruation: Using a tampon or sanitary napkin for too long can lead to bacterial growth and disrupt the pH balance in the area, leading to bad vaginal odour.

Other diseases: Though not always but at times foul smelling odour could also be a sign of cancers like cervical cancer. Usually, the symptoms are silent and the odour could be the only reason that can give you a clue to visit your gynaecologist.

Hormonal changes: Pregnancy, breastfeeding and menopause are times in a woman’s life which leads to various hormonal changes. This could lead to fluctuations in the pH balance of the vaginal area and lead to a host of infections with a bad odour. Sometimes the problems settle on their own other times might need medical intervention.

For 'civilised lovers': Things every woman wants her man to do right after SEX!

  • S&R-What woman wants-THS
Little things you do just before the main action can get her excited in bed. And if you had an orgasmic experience with her, she deserves some pampering after the action too. Unless you were in for a one-night-stand, romance just doesn’t stop after an orgasm. To make her feel special and your bond stronger, here are few things you need to do to her after having sex:

Cuddle her: Take her in your arms and pat her back or simply run your fingers through her hair. This will speak volumes of your love and affection towards her. And she will know that she is with the right partner to cares and deserves her.

Talk in silent whispers: Just because the action is over, you don’t stop talking or rather whispering to your girl. Telling her how well you felt about the whole act and complementing her can make her feel really special and you may never know she might be ready for more action by now.

Ask her if she is fine: This is something men take for granted, but you don’t be one of them. Once you both orgasm, and settle to rest, first, ask her if she is fine and feeling good. There might be a lot of things she feels after the action and doesn't want to confide right away. But your asking about her feelings will give her enough confidence, solace and hope that this relationship is really special.

    • them. Once you both orgasm, and settle to rest, first, ask her if she is fine and feeling good. There might be a lot of things she feels after the action and doesn't want to confide right away. But your asking about her feelings will give her enough confidence, solace and hope that this relationship is really special.
    • Help her clean herself

    • Help her clean herself: She might just want to be cuddled and sleep in your arms after an action. But if she leaves the bed to head to the washroom assist her. There is nothing to be grossed out if she chooses to clean herself. Helping her turn on the shower or just getting the towels for her will speak about your love like no other. And the next time you are in bed with her don't be surprised with the love shower.

      • Sleep with her
Sleep with her: Okay, there might be times when you might have to leave her in bed and walk away which could be a mutual decision. But try and sleep with her after the act. There is no better way to be in love and be romantic as is to sleep in each other’s arms after a session of wild sex.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi Top The World's Highest Paid Soccer Players

Cristiano Ronaldo is a human billboard. His hair is by Clear, his scent, underwear and shirt by his namesake brand, his shoes alternate between that same brand and Nike NKE -3.56%, his suit by Sacoor Brothers, his watch by Tag Heuer, his headphones by Monster, his abs by Sixpad Training Gear, and the rest of his fit body by Herbalife . In total the 31-year old Portuguese poster boy made $29 million from endorsements last year.

That’s a bargain for the most popular athlete in the world, at least by social media standards. In February he officially became the first athlete to reach over 200 million social media followers; as of press date he tops 210 million with 111.4 million on Facebook, 42.1 million on Twitter and 57.3 million on Instagram. In comparison LeBron James, two-time NBA champion, four-time MVP and basketball’s most popular player with only 73.5 million total social media followers, banked $48 million off the Cleveland Cavaliers’ court.
Hold your pity. Combined with his $53 million in salary and bonus from Real Madrid, the world’s most valuable soccer club worth $3.6 billion mainly on a chart-topping $694 in revenue, Ronaldo earned $82 million last year to not only rank as the world’s highest-paid footballer but the world’s highest-paid team athlete.
That’s the going rate for being the all-time leading goal scorer in the UEFA Champions League with 93 goals (and a chance to up that tally and add a third Champions League trophy to his shelf when Real face Atletico Madrid in the final on May 28), Real Madrid’s all-time leading scorer, the reigning and four-time European Golden Boot winner, and a three-time FIFA player of the year .
The prolific-scoring winger banked $5 million more than Barcelona’s Lionel Messi, the second highest-paid footballer and reigning FIFA player of the year, who earned $77 million last year — $51 million in salary and bonus and $26 milllion in endorsements from the likes of Adidas, Gatorade, Lays and EA Sports.

Forbes World Soccer Valuations Coverage Continues Here
More accurately, Ronaldo earned $2 million more for producing a combined 71 goals and assists in 2015 versus Messi’s combined total of 70, and earned $3 million more for promoting his brand and sponsors to 82 million more fans than Messi has on social media.
Or to Team Messi fans, for whom Ronaldo seems to exist only to serve as villain to their hero, their 28-year old Argentine striker made less for picking up a record fifth FIFA player of the year award, being Barca’s all-time leading scorer, being the first player ever to score 300 goals in La Liga, leading his club in goals and assists on its way to winning the Treble last season, and being the highest ranked active athlete, one ahead of Ronaldo, in The Marketing Arm’s global celebrity index powered by Repucom that measures celebrity influence.
But putting aside the best rivalry in all of sports, the real comparison is how Messi and Ronaldo stack up financially against everyone else.

Box Office: 'Captain America: Civil War' Tops $200M In Just Five Days

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
‘Captain America: Civil War’ image courtesy of Disney
Captain America: Civil War just passed the $200 million mark at the domestic box office. It did so in its fifth day, becoming the fifth-fastest movie ever to cross said milestone. Its $206.2m domestic cume puts it above fellow five-day champs The Dark Knight ($203.77m), Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II ($202.6m), and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen ($200m). Avengers: Age of Ultron did the deed in four days while Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($247m), Jurassic World ($208m), and The Avengers ($207m) snagged $200m+ opening weekends.
The third Captain America movie, which pits Captain America against Iron Man in a battle of ideology, has the fifth-biggest five-day total of all time. It already sits ahead of Iron Man 3‘s $196 million respective Fri-Tues cume as well asThe Dark Knight Rises ($198m), Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice ($193m), and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire ($186m). It sits behind only  Avengers: Age of Ultron ($217m), The Avengers ($244m), Jurassic World ($258m), and Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($325m).
Except for the final Harry Potter film and Dawn of Justice, all of the films in this conversation made it to $400 million domestic, with a few (The Dark KnightThe AvengersJurassic World, and The Force Awakens) making it to $500m. What is most impressive is that the Marvel superhero sequel earned another $13.7m on Tuesday, besting the Tuesday grosses for Iron Man 3 ($11.2m) and Avengers: Age of Ultron ($13.1m). The film went up 3.8% from Monday, compared to the 0.2% rise for Iron Man 3 and the 0.7% drop for Age of Ultron.

Point being, at this rate, Captain America: Civil War could (speculation alert) end its first week with around $225-$230 million, setting the stage for an $80-$90m second weekend (think a $9.5m Thursday with a second weekend between 8.5 and 9.5x that figure like the last three summer kick-off MCU titles). If that happens, and for the record anything over $70m is a-okay, we’re looking at a ten-day total in striking distance of Age of Ultron‘s $313m ten-day cume. But maybe it’s a $220m seven-day total for a $75m weekend and a $295m ten-day cume, which is pretty spectacular too. Iron Man 3 had $284m in ten days of U.S. play.
Recommended by Forbes
Regarding overseas might, the film earned another $18.8 million foreign, bringing its Chinese total up to $112.1m, or very near the $115m total of Captain America: The Winter Soldier and the $121m total of Iron Man 3. Its foreign cume is now $531m (more than the $517m global total of Ant-Man) for a worldwide cume of $737.8m. That means that Captain America: Civil War has topped the $714m global cume of Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
It has now topped every MCU movie outside of Guardians of the Galaxy ($773m), Iron Man 2 ($1.215 billion), Avengers: Age of Ultron ($1.4b), and The Avengers ($1.5b). It will cross $800 million either Thursday or Friday, with a possible shot at $1 billion worldwide by Sunday night. Different release patterns notwithstanding, The Avengers did it in 19 days while Avengers: Age of Ultron ended its third weekend of worldwide release (and second weekend of domestic release) with $875m.

Drake Smashes Another Record By Charting 20 Hits At The Same Time

Singer Drake

From streaming to the singles chart, it seems as though Drake is breaking records at every turn with his latest album, Views. This week, the Canadian hip-hop star claims an unprecedented 20 spots on the Hot 100, which is the all-encompassing singles ranking that shows what 100 songs are most popular in the U.S. in any given week.

Of the 20 spots he controls, only one is thanks to a feature on somebody else’s song, while the rest are tracks featured on his new record. His former nine-week leader “Work,” which was the lead single from Rihanna’s Anti, is still strong at number six this week. That means that both Rihanna and Drake have two hits in the top ten at the same time, which is a rather rare feat.

The rapper is having a truly wonderful week, as both his new album Views and his recent single “One Dance” are at number one on their respective rankings. Views marks his sixth time at the top of the albums chart and “One Dance” is his third on the Hot 100.

This specific place in history is one that seems to be changing hands more often than one would expect as of late. Last year, Drake matched the Beatles’ all-time record by placing 14 songs on the Hot 100 in the week when his If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late mixtape dropped. Just a few months later, Justin Bieber bested both Drake and the Fab Four by securing a record-breaking 17 positions in a single week. That happened thanks to his Purpose record, which would end up spinning off three number one hits (so far).

Drake almost had more than 20 songs on the singles chart at one time, as a handful of his songs are just outside the top 100. Views track “Summers Over Interlude” debuted at number two on the Bubbling Under Hot 100, which essentially means it’s currently at number 102. Also, his global smash “Hotline Bling” is missing, which is surprising. The song has been out for many months now and while it has lived a full charting life, it wouldn’t have been entirely unexpected to see the catchy tune return for the week when Views sent so many songs to the tally.
Here is the full list of the 20 tracks Drake has on the Hot 100 this week and where they all stand:

#1 – “One Dance (ft. WizKid & Kyla)”
#6 – “Work” (with Rihanna)
#21 – “Pop Style (ft. The Throne)”
#33 – “Hype”
#34 – “Controlla”
#38 – “Grammys (ft. Future)”
#40 – “Still Here”
#44 – “U With Me?”
#45 – “9”
#47 – “With You (ft. PARTYNEXTDOOR)”
#49 – “Childs Play”
#52 – “Too Good (ft. Rihanna)”
#53 – “Feel No Ways”
#54 – “Weston Road Flows”
#61 – “Redemption”
#68 – “Keep the Family Close”
#72 – “Faithful (ft. Pimp C and dvsn)”
#75 – “Fire & Desire”
#86 – “Views”
#89 – “Summer Sixteen”

I would say that this is a place in the record books that likely won’t be altered again anytime soon, but with the way things have been going lately, anybody could up the ante…including Drake himself whenever he comes out with another album.

FG increases fuel pump price

The Federal Government has approved an increase in the pump price of petrol as part of efforts aimed at ending fuel queues across the country.
The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, disclosed this on Wednesday while briefing State House correspondents at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
He said while the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency would be announcing the new price effective from Wednesday, he had been assured that it would not be more than N145 per litre.
Kachikwu said, “Following a detailed presentation by the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources to the meeting, it has now become obvious that the only option and course of action now open to the government is to take the following decisions:
“In order to increase and stabilise the supply of the product, any Nigerian entity is now free to import the product, subject to existing quality specifications and other guidelines issued by Regulatory Agencies.
“All oil marketers will be allowed to import PMS on the basis of FOREX procured from secondary sources and accordingly PPPRA template will reflect this in the pricing of the product.
“Pursuant to this, PPPRA has informed me that it will be announcing a new price band effective today, 11th May, 2016 and that the new price for PMS will not be above N145 per litre.
“We expect that this new policy will lead to improved supply and competition and eventually drive down pump prices, as we have experienced with diesel.
“In addition, this will also lead to increased product availability and encourage investments in refineries and other parts of the downstream sector. It will also prevent diversion of petroleum products and set a stable environment for the downstream sector in Nigeria.”
Kachikwu said the decision was reached at a stakeholders meeting presided over by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo and attended by the leadership of the Senate, House of Representatives, Governors Forum and labour unions including the NLC, TUC, NUPENG, and PENGASSAN.
The meeting was held inside the Vice-President’s official residence, Aguda House.
The minister said the meeting also noted that the main reason for the current problem was the inability of importers of petroleum products to source foreign exchange at the official rate due to the massive decline of foreign exchange earnings of the Federal Government, saying as a result, private marketers have been unable to meet their approximate 50% portion of total national supply of PMS.
He did not entertain any question at the end of the briefing.

FG announces Fuel Subsidy removal, petrol to now sell for N145 per litre

The fuel subsidy removal was announced on Wednesday, May 11, 2016.
The government had hinted on Tuesday, May 10, that it would announce new policy on fuel subsidy today.
While preparing Nigerians for the hardship ahead, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo had said that the government would have to take tough decisions on the desirability of retaining fuel subsidies, adding that it had become necessary to remove them.
“No matter how we slice it, we are in economic times that are challenging, but they provide us with some of the best opportunities for making a real difference in our economic life.
“I think that we are at a point that a lot has been said about subsidies and what to do with subsidies. I think we are at a point where we must make many difficult decisions and make very tough choices.
“But I think the Nigerian people are prepared for all what is required and all it would take to make a real difference," Osinbajo, who spoke at the third Ogun State Investors’ Forum held in Abeokuta on Tuesday, said.
However, details of the subsidy removal are still not clear enough.

Globacom extends lead in new internet subscriber acquisition in 2016

Nigeria’s telecoms service provider, Globacom, has continued to maintain its leadership position in the data segment of Nigeria's telecom industry as it topped the new internet subscriber acquisition chart for the first three months of 2016.

MTN lost almost 2 million internet customers in the quarter; Airtel shed nearly 900,000 subscribers, while Etisalat lost 408,282 in the same quarter.

According to The Economist, white men don't favour Hillary Clinton

HILLARY CLINTON’S defeat in the West Virginia primary yesterday followed a trend in this year’s Democratic primaries: the front-runner has been losing to Bernie Sanders in states without sizeable numbers of blacks and Hispanics. West Virginia used to be Clinton country (for Bill at least). But states where whites make up the vast majority of Democratic voters, such as Indiana, Kansas and Oklahoma and now West Virginia (where 91% of the voters were white), have plumped for Mr Sanders. Overall, white voters have split their support almost equally between the two candidates (though Mrs Clinton has done slightly worse among whites outside the South). But Mrs Clinton has done poorly with white men. She took just a third of their vote in Illinois and Michigan, for example, compared with half the votes of white women in those primaries.
In the states where exit polling breaks down the numbers by sex and race, Mrs Clinton has won on average 44% of the white male vote compared to 56% for Mr Sanders. As the front-runner in the Democratic contest she appears to be doing much worse among white men compared to 2004, when John Kerry won the party’s nomination. Mr Kerry took 53% of the white male vote in the Ohio primary, and in a crowded field of candidates, whereas Mrs Clinton got only 42% of their vote in this year’s two-horse race. In New York Mr Kerry won 58% of white men; Mrs Clinton got the support of just 43%, in a state that she had represented in the Senate for eight years.
The data are not sufficiently detailed to allow us to correlate sex and race with social indicators, such as income and education. It could be that the white men stubbornly voting for Mr Sanders are college-educated professional types, who might switch to the Clinton camp in November. But if they are disgruntled workers amenable to a populist rallying cry against the Washington elite, might they be tempted by Donald Trump? Mrs Clinton has not been doing well either on another measure: whites (men and women) with no college degree. Outside the South this group has been favouring Mr Sanders. In West Virginia, where they accounted for well over half the vote, just 35% of them backed Mrs Clinton.

Anti-corruption fight not an easy task, Buhari admits

President Muhammadu Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday admitted that the anti-corruption war being waged by his administration was not an easy task.
He however expressed the possibility of prosecuting the war to a successful end even if many feathers would have to be ruffled.
Buhari said this in his keynote address he delivered at the Commonwealth event tagged “Tackling corruption together: A conference for civil society, business and government leaders” held at the Commonwealth Secretariat, London.
Electronic copies of the speech were made available to journalists by the Presidency.
Buhari said his desire to prosecute the anti-corruption war successfully was evident in the manner he had so far allowed anti-graft agencies to operate without interference unlike what was obtainable in the past.
He said, “Tackling the menace of corruption is not an easy task, but it is possible even if many feathers have to be ruffled.
“Our Government’s dogged commitment to tackling corruption is also evident in the freedom and support granted to national anti-corruption agencies to enable them to carry out their respective mandates without interference or hindrance from any quarter including the government.
“Today, our frontline anti-corruption agencies, namely, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related Offences Commission, the Code of Conduct Bureau and the Code of Conduct Tribunal have become revitalised and more proactive in the pursuit of perpetrators of corrupt practices, irrespective of their social status and political persuasion. This is a radical departure from the past.
“We have implemented the Treasury Single Account whereby all Federal government revenue goes into one account. This measure would make it impossible for public officers to divert public funds to private accounts as was the practice before.
“Through the effective application of TSA and the Bank Verification Number, we have been able to remove 23,000 ghost workers from our pay roll, thereby saving billions that would have been stolen.
“We are also reviewing our anti-corruption laws and have developed a national anti-corruption strategy document that will guide our policies in the next three years, and possibly beyond.”
Describing corruption as a hydra-headed monster and a cankerworm that undermines the fabric of all societies, Buhari said the menace does not differentiate between developed and developing countries.

Donald Trump, Leicester City, and Why Predicting the Future Is So Hard

Leicester City players celebrate their most improbable title. Credit Peter Powell/European Pressphoto Agency
Last summer, the great mass of the American political punditocracy scoffed at the possibility that Donald Trump would win a single state in the Republican race. Now Trump has won the party’s presidential nomination.
Also last summer, British bookmakers took bets at 5,000-to-1 odds that Leicester City, a historically weak English soccer team, would win the Premier League. The team has won, and it has reportedly cost the bookmakers 25 million pounds, or $36 million, the biggest loss on a single sports event in British gambling history.
Anyone can simply be unlucky. But there are systematic biases and errors our puny human brains tend to make repeatedly when we try to predict the future, some of which are evident in the biggest political and sports upsets of 2016.
It’s fine and well to make fun of people (including myself) who were sure that Mr. Trump had no shot at the presidency, or who offered overly generous odds to try to bring bettors into a betting parlor. It’s even possible that those projections were correct — that these outcomes really were highly unlikely but that randomness prevailed (even a million-to-one lottery ticket might hit).
But it seems more likely that the odds were misjudged all along. And if that’s the case, understanding the mental errors behind those mistakes can be valuable for anyone who cares about forecasting and prediction (which, one way or another, is pretty much all of us).
The biggest is recency bias, a concept most often evoked in financial markets by people who study the intersection of psychology and finance. We tend to overweight recent history in thinking about the likelihood that something might happen. People who have experienced a recent stock market crash are more likely to think another one is imminent, for example.
That helps explain why, even when Mr. Trump entered the presidential race and rocketed to the top of the Republican polls, so many smart people remained so skeptical of the idea that he would win.
Remember the 2012 Republican race, when a string of improbable candidates like Michele Bachmann and Herman Cain briefly rose to the top of the polls, while Mitt Romney, who had the support of establishment donors, made a slow-and-steady path to the nomination. You could say the same of the 2004 Democratic race, when anti-establishment Howard Dean led in the polls for months but John Kerry won the nomination.
But it hasn’t always been that way. Wendell Willkie is the closest counterexample. Amid a divided Republican party in 1940, Willkie, a businessman who had never held public office and had been a Democrat just a year prior, emerged from nowhere to claim the Republican nomination. Barry Goldwater in 1964 was opposed by many Republican party leaders.

And in English soccer, in the last 21 years, only four teams with big budgets and reputations — Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United and Arsenal — had won. But before that, there are examples of teams emerging to challenge the elite, like the 1995 champion Blackburn Rovers.
Knowing history in other words — and not just recent history — can help a person avoid assuming that the way it has been recently is the way it always is.
A related lesson is to be aware of just how small the sample is when looking to the past for guidance. American presidential elections take place every four years, and English soccer championships once a year. A basic lesson of sampling is that one should have less confidence in the results the smaller the sample is, which in turn implies great modesty about what might happen in the future.
But it’s not just that the sample is small. It’s also that in these games — running a presidential campaign or managing a soccer team — the rules are always changing. This is a version of what Nassim Nicholas Taleb, author of “The Black Swan,” called the “ludic fallacy. (It’s derived from Latin for “game.”) The idea is that it is a mistake to apply the kind of simplified statistical model of a game to the circumstances of real life.
In a game, the rules are fixed. If you spin a roulette wheel, or even send a baseball team out on the field to face an opponent, there are a set range of things that can happen, and it’s relatively straightforward to figure out the probability of each.
But in politics, external events, media coverage, public opinion and the strategies of opponents — even the number of opponents — are constantly in flux in unpredictable ways. That means something that happened in a past year may or may not be good evidence for what will happen this year.
And in sports, while an individual matchup might follow the usual rules of probability, a team’s long-term strategy doesn’t. A smart owner or manager can come up with new insights on how best to select and deploy talent that gives an edge over rest of the league that simple odds won’t predict. Here’s one analysis of the techniques Leicester City’s owners and managers used to prevail.
Another example is the National Basketball Association’s Golden State Warriors, who in the 2011-2012 season won only about third of their games. They had been to the playoffs once in 18 years. Relying more on 3-point shots than the rest of the league — with the help of Stephen Curry, of course — they rose to be last year’s champion and set the record for regular-season wins this season.
Prediction is hard. Complex systems with constantly changing rules, a limited historical sample to analyze and our own psychological biases and short historical memories make it harder. And that has rarely been more evident than in the worlds of politics and sports in 2016.

12 reasons you should not take love seriously in your 20's

post-feature-image

Your twenties are meant to be one of the most exciting decades of your life. Above all, it is a time to learn. It is supposed to be an incredible time characterized by self-discovery and experimentation. It is not a time to limit yourself by rushing to serious decisions that could impact the rest of your life. More specifically, it is not a time to focus on love or finding “the one”.

With the case of love, your twenties should be a time to explore both yourself and your preferences in specific types of partners. Ultimately, your twenties are a period of immense trial and error. Your twenties are a key stage that prepare you for your 30’s and 40’s, the time when you are mature enough to truly prosper.

Here are 12 reasons why you shouldn’t be too serious about love in your 20’s:

1. Love requires patience. This comes after your twenties

In your twenties, you have all the time in the world. However, one thing all young adults seem to lack in their twenties is patience. It’s a product of growing up in the Information Age. We don’t want to wait. We want it right now.

Unfortunately, love doesn’t work this way. It takes time for a relationship to grow and for chemistry to develop. Love is all about mutual growth and chemistry. The only way you can experience this is through patience.

2. Love requires dedication

When you seriously love someone, you need to be all in. This requires responsibility and dedication for both partners. If we’re being honest here, your twenties are a time for you to have fun and explore.

Who wants to cut the fun in their twenties short? Some people do that and often find themselves unhappy and wondering “what if”.

3. Love often finds you

They say that love tends to come from unexpected places. If this is the case, why not just live life to the fullest and worry about love later?

4. Love materializes when you are ready

We’ve already established that love requires patience and dedication. We’ve also established that these often develop after your twenties. Therefore, it’s safe to say that you are simply not ready for love in your twenties. Be patient it will find you when it finds you.

5. Your twenties are a time to find yourself

Living life to the fullest and learning as much as possible requires an enormous commitment to yourself. Quite frankly, you need to be selfish if you want to find yourself. This is an enormous trade off because selfishness has no place in the dynamic of love. You and your partner must be selfless.

6. Your twenties are a time to explore

How can you know if your partner is what’s best for you if you settled down with them too soon? You can’t. If you choose to take love too seriously and settle down with one partner in your twenties, you are essentially rolling the dice. Maybe your partner is a great match. But maybe not.

Why not spend time exploring and wait so that you can make better long-term decisions on your love life a few years down the road?

7. Your twenties are a time to go all out and live life to the fullest

Your twenties are a time when your youthful energy and health are at an all time high. This is the time to live it up. Try new things. Be adventurous. Go out and see the world. This is the time to do it. You don’t want to become another one of those stories of someone who wakes up at age 35 and realizes that they settled down too soon.

8. Love requires time

You are supposed to be living your life in your twenties. There simply isn’t time to fully dedicate yourself to someone if you are busy seeing the world and doing the things you want to do. For instance, how can you build a relationship if you want to take time to find yourself and also travel the world? You can’t.

9. Love is serious business

Love is a serious thing. However, your twenties are a time to let loose and have fun. The time to make serious love decisions should be saved for when you are fully matured. For instance, would it be fair to have someone commit to you if you yourself were not all in? No, it would not be fair.

10. You will be “better” later on in life

All of the experiences and self-discovery during your twenties will pay off because they will translate in to a better individual in later decades. You will be more experienced because you will be seasoned by life.

Ultimately, you will be better and will truly be able to offer something special to that lucky someone.

11. If you take the time to enjoy your twenties, you will be more stable later on in life

Let’s compare two people. Person A lived life to the fullest in their twenties. Eventually, they settled down with someone in their thirties. Person B decided to settle down with someone right away. We can probably assume that Person A is satisfied because they see themselves as having lived a full life and are stable. In contrast, we can probably assume that Person B might have some questions might still have that desire to go out and see the world.

12. Life is not a sprint. It’s a marathon

You should not be in any rush to go through the various stages in life, especially love. You will meet someone when you are ready and this often means when you are at your best and are on your life’s path.

President Buhari Revokes Possibility Of Biafra

President Muhammadu Buhari
President Muhammadu Buhari

Speaking in Katsina on Monday, May 9 during his visit to the Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmumuni Kabiru Usman, President Buhari commented on the fear of Nigeria breaking-up because of ongoing crisis.
According to him, the call became very important due to some activities of several groups preaching hatred, disunity and divisive tendencies among the populace for selfish gains.
President Buhari tasked leaders with the responsibility of being honest and straightforward in their dealings with the people so that the younger ones in the society can be well brought up, Vanguard reports.
President Buhari urged traditional rulers to fight against the unrest and champion the cause for peaceful and harmonious co-existence among the diverse socio-political groups in the country.
The president has now called on all Nigerians to ignore such individuals or groups calling for the country’s break-up, narrating that over two million people died during the last civil war in Nigeria.

The President Muhammadu Buhari made a keynote speech at the ani-corruption summit holding in the UK.
The theme was ‘Tackling Corruption Together: A Conference For Civil Society, Business And Government Leaders’
You can read the full text below.
Ø Fellow Heads of State & Government,
Ø The Secretary-General of the Commonwealth, the Rt. Honourable Patricia Scotland, QC,
Ø Business Leaders,
Ø Representatives of Civil Society Organizations,
Ø Your Excellencies,
Ø Ladies and Gentlemen,
I am delighted to be invited to this event to exchange views with you my fellow invited guests representing Governments, the Private Sector and Civil Society Organizations. I thank you Your Excellency, the Secretary-General of the Commonwealth, for asking me to speak at this gathering.
2. Corruption is a hydra-headed monster and a cankerworm that undermines the fabric of all societies. It does not differentiate between developed and developing countries. It constitutes a serious threat to good governance, rule of law, peace and security, as well as development programmes aimed at tackling poverty and economic backwardness. These considerations informed my decision to attend this event as well as the Anti-Corruption Summit organized by Prime Minister Rt. Hon. David Cameron that will be held tomorrow. I expect that today’s event would feed into the discussions that will be held tomorrow at Lancaster House.
3. In 2003, when the world came together to sign the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC) that entered into force in 2005, it was with a view to tackling the growing threat that corruption had become to many nations. Little did we know that eleven years since then, the problem would still continue unabated, but even become more intractable and cancerous.
Excellencies,
4. Permit me to share with you our national experience in combating corruption. I intend to do this by placing the fight against corruption in Nigeria within the context of the three priority programmes of our Administration. On assumption of office on 29th May 2015, we identified as our main focus three key priority programmes. They are, combating insecurity, tackling corruption and job creation through re-structuring the declining national economy.
5. Our starting point as an Administration was to amply demonstrate zero tolerance for corrupt practices as this vice is largely responsible for the social and economic problems our country faces today. The endemic and systemic nature of corruption in our country demanded our strong resolve to fight it. We are demonstrating our commitment to this effort by bringing integrity to governance and showing leadership by example.
Excellencies, Ladies and Gentlemen
6. Tackling the menace of corruption is not an easy task, but it is possible even if many feathers have to be ruffled. Our Government’s dogged commitment to tackling corruption is also evident in the freedom and support granted to national anti-corruption agencies to enable them to carry out their respective mandates without interference or hindrance from any quarter including the government.
7. Today, our frontline anti-corruption agencies, namely, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related Offences Commission (ICPC), the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) and the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), have become revitalised and more proactive in the pursuit of perpetrators of corrupt practices, irrespective of their social status and political persuasion. This is a radical departure from the past.
8. We have implemented the Treasury Single Account (TSA) whereby all Federal government revenue goes into one account. This measure would make it impossible for public officers to divert public funds to private accounts as was the practice before. Through the effective application of TSA and the Bank Verification Number (BVN), we have been able to remove 23,000 ghost workers from our pay roll, thereby saving billions that would have been stolen.
9. We are also reviewing our anti-corruption laws and have developed a national anti-corruption strategy document that will guide our policies in the next three years, and possibly beyond.
10. I am not unaware of the challenges of fighting corruption in a manner consistent with respect for human rights and the rule of law. As a country that came out of prolonged military rule only sixteen years ago, it will clearly take time to change the mentality and psychology of law enforcement officers. I am committed to applying the rule of law and to respecting human rights. I also require our security agencies to do the same.
11. I admit that there are a few cases where apparently stringent rules have been applied as a result of threats to national security and the likelihood that certain persons may escape from the country or seek to undermine the stability of Nigeria. It is for this reason that we are seeking the support of many countries for the prosecution of certain individuals residing in their jurisdictions. Of course we will provide the necessary legal documents and whatever mutual assistance is required to secure conviction of such individuals, as well as facilitate the repatriation of our stolen assets.
12. Unfortunately, our experience has been that repatriation of corrupt proceeds is very tedious, time consuming, costly and entails more than just the signing of bilateral or multilateral agreements. This should not be the case as there are provisions in the appropriate United Nations Convention that require countries to return assets to countries from where it is proven that they were illegitimately acquired.
13. Further, we are favourably disposed to forging strategic partnerships with governments, civil society organizations, organized private sector and international organizations to combat corruption. Our sad national experience had been that domestic perpetrators of corrupt practices do often work hand-in-hand with international criminal cartels.
14. This evil practice is manifested in the plundering and stealing of public funds, which are then transferred abroad into secret accounts. I therefore, call for the establishment of an international anti-corruption infrastructure that will monitor, trace and facilitate the return of such assets to their countries of origin. It is important to stress that the repatriation of identified stolen funds should be done without delay or preconditions.
15. In addition to the looting of public funds, Nigeria is also confronted with illegal activities in the oil sector, the mainstay of our export economy. That this industry has been enmeshed in corruption with the participation of the staff of some of the oil companies is well established. Their participation enabled oil theft to take place on a massive scale.
16. Some of us in this hall may be familiar with the Report released by Chatham House, here in London, in 2013, titled “Nigeria’s Criminal Crude: International Options to Combat the Export of Stolen Oil.” The important findings of the Chatham House document are illuminating and troubling. Part of the Report concluded that:
a) Nigerian crude oil is being stolen on an industrial scale and exported, with the proceeds laundered through world financial centres by transnational organized criminals.
b) Oil theft is a species of organized crime that is almost totally off the international community’s radar, as Nigeria’s trade and diplomatic partners have taken no real action.
c) Nigeria could not stop the trade single-handedly, and there is limited value in countries going it alone.
17. It is clear therefore, that the menace of oil theft, put at over 150,000 barrels per day, is a criminal enterprise involving internal and external perpetrators. Illicit oil cargoes and their proceeds move across international borders. Opaque and murky as these illegal transactions may be, they are certainly traceable and can be acted upon, if all governments show the required political will. This will has been the missing link in the international efforts hitherto. Now in London, we can turn a new page by creating a multi-state and multi-stakeholder partnership to address this menace.
18. We, therefore, call on the international community to designate oil theft as an international crime similar to the trade in “blood diamonds”, as it constitutes an imminent and credible threat to the economy and stability of oil-producing countries like Nigeria. The critical stakeholders here present can lead the charge in this regard.
Excellencies, Ladies and Gentlemen
19. By the end of our summit tomorrow, we should be able to agree on a rules-based architecture to combat corruption in all its forms and manifestations. I agree fully with the Commonwealth Secretary-General that anti-corruption is a shared agenda for civil society, business and government, requiring commitment from companies, creating a space for civil society and governments providing support for whistle-blowers.
20. A main component of this anti-corruption partnership is that governments must demonstrate unquestionable political will and commitment to the fight. The private sector must come clean and be transparent, and civil society, while keeping a watch on all stakeholders, must act and report with a sense of responsibility and objectivity.
21. For our part, Nigeria is committed to signing the Open Government Partnership initiatives alongside Prime Minister Cameron during the Summit tomorrow.
22. In conclusion, may I commend the Commonwealth Secretary-General and her team for hosting this important event. This is a very encouraging way to start your tenure. We wish you the very best as you guide the affairs of the Commonwealth family in the years to come.
23. I thank you.

Those in clashes between herdsmen and farmers are not Fulanis- Minister tells Senate

The Minister of State for Agriculture, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, yesterday told the Senate that the criminals involved in clashes between herdsmen and farmers are not necessarily Fulanis. He said this at a Senate investigative hearing on the perennial clashes between herdsmen and farmers.

“We believe that most of those involved in the clashes between herdsmen and farmers are not necessarily the Fulani. They could be another gang of Boko Haram who may not be Nigerians,” he said
Lopobiri went further to proffer solutions to the problems associated with herdsmen
“The best way to solve this problem will be the creation of ranches. If we create ranches, we will provide what the Fulani man is looking for,” he said

I won’t demand apology from Cameron - Buhari

UK Prime Minister, David Cameron and President Muhammadu Buhari. Source: AFP

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday said he would not demand apology from the British Prime Minister, David Cameron, for describing Nigeria as a “fantastically corrupt” country.
Rather, Buhari who is currently in London for an anti-corruption summit, said all he would demand from Cameron was the return of Nigeria’s stolen assets.
The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, quoted Buhari as saying this in his Twitter handle on Wednesday.
“PMB to UK: Am not going to demand any apology. All I’ll demand is return of assets. What would I do with apology? I need something tangible,” Adesina wrote.
