Batman v Superman set to miss out on UK's superhero films top 10

Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice looks set to miss out on a place in the top 10 biggest superhero films in UK history.
The blockbuster saw its box office sales slump by 68% in only its second week in British cinemas.
It has now taken £27.8 million in the UK, enough to make it one of the biggest movies of the year so far.

But if audiences continue to fall at such a rapid rate, Batman v Superman stands little chance of joining the ranks of the UK’s most successful superhero films.

It would need to make more than £30.6 million to enter the top 10, overtaking 2013′s Man Of Steel.
Rival superhero film Deadpool, still playing in UK cinemas, is already in the top 10 at number eight, with ticket sales of £37.6 million.

The most successful superhero movie in UK cinema history is 2012′s The Dark Knight Rises, which made £58.7 million.
The Dark Knight (2008) is in second place on £55.4 million, while Marvel Avengers Assemble (2012) is third on £54.1 million.
Meanwhile the biggest film of all time, 2015′s Star Wars: The Force Awakens, continues to attract audiences.
It is still showing in 30 cinemas across the country, and has now made a total of £123 million in the UK – £12 million more than the previous record-holder, 1998′s Titanic.
