Nwevo ‘Darclay’ Daniel O. is a new face in the Nigeria entertainment industry. He’s a guy you will want to meet. He is the CEO of Darclay’s Media, an entertainment company established to develop young artists and produce movies. Darclay’s Media has produced a couple of local artists in Lagos and Enugu, and is currently working on a movie titled ‘Same Girl.’
Daniel, a graduate of University of Nigeria, Nsukka, in 2012 won the
double award of the most popular guy in the school and the best DJ on the
wheel. In an interview with theSummons Magazine, he discussed his company’s
plan of bringing dynamism into Nollywood and in following Mavins Records’
footstep in developing talented artists. Read excerpt below:

You are the CEO of Darclay’s
Media
Yes, I am.
What is your company all about?
Well, my company is a media firm that conglomerates various aspects of
media like music and movie production, event management, DJ services etc.
Does it have plans for upcoming
artists and job seekers?
Definitely. Upcoming artists and job seekers are the major people that
will help the firm grow. Record Labels are known courtesy of young talents. For
in as much as artists are promoted and known, the company that brought him/her
out doesn’t easily get forgotten. Just like Mavins Record. Koredo Bello and Reekado Banks are
known because of Mavins and they have their roles in the promotion of the company.
Is the company currently working
with any artist?
Sure. We are.
Do you produce movies as well?
Said that earlier. We are currently working on producing two videos ‘Same
Girl’ and 'When death is not Enough'

What’s the video about, sir?
You see, this company is focused on bringing a little dynamism into
nollywood. The video is one of the classical movies you know. But the punch line
is unique, the production will be high definition, the graphic and language
will be different from the usual in the country.
What do you mean by punch line,
sir?
By punch line I mean the idea, the storyline, and its capability to be
rated high above many.
Where are your company branches?
We have one in Enugu and one at Lagos
You graduated from the University
of Nigeria, am I right?
Yes, you are.
And at some time you won the most
popular man in school and the best DJ?
Yea. That was an honour to the company. You know when you are doing anything
good or negative, people are watching and taking notes.

What led to that?
I don’t understand what you mean.
I mean how did you get to that
point and level you are right now?
Of course, hard work and determination. With hard work and
determination, there’s no height one can’t reach in life. And with God by your
side
Do you have any advice to young
people out there?
My solemn advice to every young person out there is simply to understand
the power of focus and time management. Always make your plans put them ahead
of time.
