The All Progressives Congress has assured Nigerians that they will fare better in 2017.
The party said the necessary foundation had been laid by the government to set the nation on the path of sustainable growth.
This was contained in the party’s New Yew message to Nigerians on Saturday.
The National Publicity Secretary of the party, Bolaji Abdullahi, in a
statement, said the party was grateful to Nigerians for their support
and commitment to the APC-led government in 2016.
He said, “We understand that the past year has been a difficult one
for Nigerians as government laid the necessary foundation for setting
our country on the path of sustainable growth.
“We are confident, however, that many of government’s efforts will
begin to yield positive dividends this year as our country climbs out of
the current economic recession.”
Also in his New Year message, the senator representing Lagos-East
senatorial district, Gbenga Ashafa, has urged Nigerians not to despair
but to expect better life from the President Muhammadu Buhari-led
administration in 2017.
The senator urged Nigerians to remain patient and focused, stressing
that the Federal Government was working assiduously to improve the
economy.
The statement partly read, “As we go into the New Year, Nigerians
should not despair. I strongly believe that it is in challenging times
like these that people have been forced out of their comfort zones to
create new economies, new opportunities and enhance the course of modern
civilisation.”
