Queeneth Agbor: Actress thinks sex before marriage is important for successful relationship, believes Calabar women are trained to give satisfaction to their partners

Cross River State born actress, Queeneth Agbor, has shared a comment stating her belief that sex before marriage is essential for the success of the union.
According to Agbor who spoke to Punch News in an interview, this can safeguard against promiscuity and mistrust, as it is all about getting the best out of the relationship.

"You have to know your package, I am not saying just go into it anyhow but just test it."
"You need to know what you are going into, so you don’t start cheating on your spouse."
"Most marriages that break up are solely because of this issue. So I think it is important for you to know what you are getting into."

The actress, who is also a native of Calabar also disagreed with suggestions that women from her hometown are husband snatchers.
She however thinks they have all the right attributes needed to satisfy a man.

Monarch orders arrest of ‘beggar masquerades’

The Obong of Calabar, Ekpo Abasi-Otu V, has called on the Cross River Police Command to arrest any masquerade found along the streets of Calabar begging for money.
Abasi-Otu made the call on Thursday in Calabar during the formation of Eminent People’s Forum organised by the Commissioner of Police, Mr Jimoh Ozi-Obeh.
The Obong, who was represented by Etubom Bassey Duke, the Chairman of Etubom’s Traditional Rulers Council in the palace, said the call became necessary following series of negative complaints about some masquerades.
He said that the palace of the Obong had received several petitions that some people were hiding under the guise of ‘masquerade’ to extort money from innocent residents of the state.
He said, “The palace of the Obong of Calabar has received several petitions about the wicked act of some masquerades in Calabar.
“Some of these people hide under the guise of masquerades to extort money from people. They also carry out heinous crimes while pretending to be spirits.
“We don’t permit masquerades to go about in the street begging for money unless it is a very big cultural event.
“I am calling on the police to arrest any masquerade found begging for money along the streets of Calabar.”
Earlier, Ozi-Obeh said the forum was set up to bring stakeholders together to collaborate on peaceful co-existence in the state.
The commissioner said that the police needed the support of the traditional rulers in order to maintain a crime-free society.
Mrs Tina Agbor, Secretary to the State Government, said that the security of any state requires the support of the traditional rulers because they were the closest to the people.
Agbor urged traditional rulers in the state not to shield any of their subjects found wanting, but rather, hand them over to the police for interrogation.
A traditional ruler, Etubom Michael Etim, urged the police to deploy more patrol vans to Akpabuyo and Bakassi local government areas, to check the activities of suspected militants in the creeks.
Traditional rulers, local government chairmen, serving and retired senior civil servants, professionals and youth leaders, among others, attended the forum.

Tomatoes flood Calabar markets

Tomato marketMarkets in Calabar, Cross River Capital, have once again been flooded with tomatoes from the northern part of the country, after many months of scarcity.
A market survey by NAN on Sunday showed that tomatoes from Zaria, Kaduna, Jos and Gboko were displayed in large quantities for sale in Main Market, Watt Market and others in the state capital.
The price of the commodity has drastically gone down as a result of this development.
It will be recalled that the outbreak of a tomato disease in some northern states caused scarcity of the produce, especially in the southern part of the country, including Calabar.
NAN recalls that during the period a basket of local tomatoes sold for between N25, 000 and N28, 000, depending on the quality.
However, the price has drastically reduced to between N12, 000 and N14, 000 per basket, depending on the type.
A tomato seller, Mallam Ibrahim Musa, said, “the ones from Jos in Plateau and Gboko in Benue are higher in quality; many people prefer them to the ones got from Zaria. So the prices are different,” he said.
NAN also reports that tomatoes from the Republic of Cameroun which had dominated in the markets during the scarcity are also available.
According to Ibrahim, the price of a basket of the Cameroun brand of tomatoes is between N5, 500 and N6000.
A resident of Calabar, Mrs Emem Uduak, described the availability of the local brand of tomatoes in the markets as a relief.
“Honestly, it is a relief because I do not enjoy Cameroun tomatoes at all; I prefer tomatoes from the north and thank God they are now available in the market,” she said.
